# Keyboard shortcut settings

{% hint style="info" %}
Make sure that you have the [Chrome extension](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/guideflow/neabdmkliomokekhgnogbeonopbjmajc) downloaded and installed on your browser before you get started.
{% endhint %}

By configuring keyboard shortcuts for Guideflow's Chrome extension, you can control [Manual video capture](/help/capture-a-guideflow/how-to-capture-a-guideflow/screen-capture/manual-video-capture.md).

### How to configure keyboard shortcuts for Guideflow's Chrome extension

{% hint style="info" %}
To quickly access the settings, go to **`chrome://extensions/shortcuts`** in your Chrome browser. Alternatively, follow the steps below:
{% endhint %}

{% @guideflow/guideflow-embed requestedUrl="<https://app.guideflow.com/player/lpx6636t4p>" %}

* In your Chrome browser, go to the menu in the upper-right corner
* Go to Settings
* Go to Extensions
* Go to Keyboard shortcuts
* Find Guideflow
* Set your keyboard shortcut for "Start/Stop recording video"
* Set your keyboard shortcut for "Start/Stop recording new video step"

### Available settings

* **Start/stop recording video** - Press the keyboard shortcut to begin video capture. Recording will stop when you click anywhere on the screen or press the shortcut again.
* **Start/stop recording new video step** - Press the keyboard shortcut to begin video capture. Recording will stop when you press the shortcut again. During the recording, you can click as many times as needed to demonstrate your workflow — the video will continue capturing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.guideflow.com/help/capture-settings/keyboard-shortcut-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
